Nike Celebrates Caribbean Culture With the Air Force 1 Low “Caribana”
Paying homage to Toronto’s annual Caribana festival.

Nike is set to honor Caribana — the annual Toronto-based festival celebrating widespread Caribbean culture — with a commemorative pair of Air Force 1 Lows. Each summer, thousands of festival-goers the world over hit the streets of the downtown core with colorful floats and glittery costumes parading down the streets of the bustling metropolis. The sportswear giant thought to mimic these creative cues by placing them directly onto the sneaker.
A cracked metallic gold base swarms the upper with a colorful paint-splattered side Swoosh, tongue tab, heel counter and inner sole — all of which symbolize the decorative outfits and platforms seen throughout the long weekend — artistically characterizing the shoe. A mini palm tree graphic, along with a clean black sole unit completes the overall look. The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Caribana” can be found now at Capsule for a price of $165 CAD (approximately $127 USD).
