Chance the Rapper Announces A Surprise Chicago Concert
Chance is doing it all for free.

Chance the Rapper is in Chicago as grand marshal of the city’s annual back-to-school Bud Billiken Bash, where he spontaneously announced a free concert later tonight. The rapper spent the day distributing 30,000 backpacks filled to the brim with school supplies via his non-profit organization SocialWorks. He then spoke to local ABC and announced the surprise show.
“I’m handing out free tickets all day long. I wanted to make sure I can identify all those teachers that support our youth and build our children up, all those fathers that are out here with their families, the cornerstones of their houses, bringing their families out — I wanted to make sure I can identify y’all so my people can get you some free tickets.”
The #BBBash Show will be held at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre. Chance has also promising a few “special guests” accompanying him for the concert. He’s currently tweeting location-by-location breakdowns of where he’ll be during the parade route to give away free tickets.
