August is past its midway mark, and now it’s time to look back at this week’s best new tracks. High profile artists like Quavo, Lil Uzi Vert, Kanye West all dropped new tracks, while old-timers and newcomers including Bones, Stimulator Jones, SOB X RBE and Kaytranada put out new heat as well.
Stimulator Jones is one of the most exciting acts on the Stones Throw roster and the up-and-comer’s “Give My All” video is more than enough to show that he is indeed a promising artist. SOB X RBE dropped the first song from their forthcoming album Gangin 2 – a sequel to their 2017 debut studio LP Gangin. Quavo dropped his first solo records without his Platinum-selling group Migos in the form of “Lambtalk,” “Bubblegum” and “Workinme.”

SOB X RBE – “Vibes”

SOB X RBE joined with southern California’s Shoreline Mafia last month for “Da Move” video. This week, Vallejo group have revealed plans for their next album, Gangin 2 and released a new single titled “Vibes.” SOB X RBE’s Gangin 2 is set to solidify the crew’s place at the top of the contemporary rap scene.
Quavo – “Lambtalk,” “Bubblegum” & “Workinme”

Quavo shared his first official solo records earlier this week. Riding off the success of his record with DJ Khaled “No Brainer,” the Atlanta dropped three tracks titled “Workinme,” “Bubblegum” and “Lambtalk.” The first and last are produced by Murda Beatz while is helmed by Buddah Bless.
Bones – LivingSucks

Bones returned with a new full-length project titled LivingSucks, following July’s lo-fi video for “MissingProjectFiles,” The artist’s 16-track tape features production from Drew the Architect, Ghost, Fleece, Swirl, Nymano, Budd Dwyer and others. The album also features a guest appearance by TeamSESH affiliate Eddy Baker. Bones also headed out across the U.S. for his Seshollowaterboyz crew’s ‘American Wasteland’ tour.
Kaytranada – “Kiss of Life – Kaytra Edit,” “The Night Is On My Mind,” “Kaytra2018 04 27” & “Kaytra2018 03 19”

Kaytranada shared two new edits of Sade’s “Kiss Of Life” and A Tribe Called Quest’s “Midnight” and two additional untitled tracks from March and April. These releases are the first new solo material from Kaytra since his 2016 album, 99.9%. The Canadian producer and DJ released a collaborative EP with Robert Glasper earlier this year.
Lil Uzi Vert – “Let’s Play” (with Yung Bans & Lil Tracy) & “.223” (with Gunna)

It was a big week for Lil Uzi Vert. Yung Bans linked up with the Philadelphia rapper and Lil Tracy for “Let’s Play.” The former is produced by DP Beats and is Uzi and Tracy’s first collaborative effort since “Like A Farmer.” Lil Uzi Vert also teamed up with Atlanta star Gunna for a collaboration titled “.223.” Listen to both below.
Stimulator Jones – “Give My All”

Stones Throw’s Stimulator Jones shared the video for “Give My All” earlier this week. The track is off his debut album Exotic Worlds and Masterful Treasures. The video, directed by Patrick Mattes, was shot on 16mm film in the mountains and beaches just outside of Los Angeles. The artist will also hit the road this October with labelmates Kiefer, Jerry Paper and Prophet.
Kanye West – “XTCY”

Kanye West shared a new track titled “XTCY” late Friday night. DJ Clark Kent shared the news on Twitter first, the ‘Ye retweeted the post which includes a WeTransfer link where fans can download the track. ”XTCY” was cut from the ye album and is the first single following his five-album release which took off with Pusha T’s Daytona and concluded with Teyana Taylor’s KTSE.
