Dr. Dre Finally Follows up 2015's 'Compton' With New Single "Gunfiyah"
“Who got a hit just like this? And got heart and rich like this?”
Dr. Dre is beginning the week by releasing his first major solo record since 2015’s critically-acclaimed studio album Compton. Currently promoting his new HBO documentary The Defiant Ones, the West Coast legend re-releases a single to support the series, “Gunfiyah.” Adopting the biographical style of The Defiant Ones, “Gunfiyah” delivers a flurry of bars to provide a lyrical retrospective of Dr. Dre’s career. “Who got a hit just like this? And got heart and rich like this” Dr. Dre spits. “Never failed, 20 years and he still got grip like this.” Today’s release was originally debuted on Dr. Dre’s Beats 1 program The Pharmacy.
