'Child's Play' to Get Reboot With Upgraded Chucky Doll
From the folks that brought you “It.”

The possessed killer doll Chucky is set to return to his Child’s Play franchise in a new reboot from It and It: Chapter Two producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith. The film is expected to be directed by Polaroid visionary Lars Klevberg and will be set in modern day with teenage characters similar to Stranger Things and the producer’s Losers’ Club.
It’s not confirmed if the doll will have its looks revamped to fit the contemporary setting, but it is expected to have upgraded features and technological advances far above just spewing its famous catchphrases. Child’s Play originally debuted in 1988 before spinning off into its own subsequent franchise with 1998’s Bride of Chucky. The most recent Chucky film was 2017’s Cult of Chucky.
In related news, Idris Elba has been cast as the villain of the new Fast and Furious spin-off.
