Chance The Rapper has Bought 'Chicagoist' News Site
He’s planning on “bringing the people of Chicago an independent media outlet focused on amplifying diverse voices and content.”
After Chance The Rapper announced that he had bought Chicagoist on his newly-released “I Need Security” single, the news has now been confirmed in a statement. No fee has been announced for the deal between WNYC (the company that bought Chicagoist earlier this year) and Chance’s Social Media LLC.
Chance’s lyrics state that he “bought the Chicagoist just to run you racist bitches outta business,” with his statement expanding on this reasons. “I’m extremely excited to be continuing the work of the Chicagoist, an integral local platform for Chicago news, events and entertainment,” the statement explained, “I look forward to re-launching it and bringing the people of Chicago an independent media outlet focused on amplifying diverse voices and content.”
Chance is also set to work on a new album with Kanye West.
