Virgil Abloh Names Benji B as Louis Vuitton Music Director
The DJ is producing an “original score” with BadBadNotGood.
On the eve of his first show at Louis Vuitton, Virgil Abloh has appointed British DJ Benji B as “Music Director” at the Parisian house. Benji B — who Abloh once described as “the Anna Wintour of club music” — has been working with BadBadNotGood on an original score for the Spring/Summer 2019 show at Paris Fashion Week.
As well as the runway score, Benji B and Abloh have also worked together on a “new format” for fashion week parties. According to Abloh’s Instagram, the new “the night will always start with a sit down performance” and “after that wave we’ll always book a dj we admire.” The first part of this type will feature a BadBadNo Good performance before DJ sets from Benji B, Abloh, No Vacancy Inn, Judah and Pedro. After this party, it is not clear what Benji B’s role as music director at Louis Vuitton will entail.
