UPDATE: Tomas Maier Has Left Bottega Veneta, Daniel Lee Appointed
After over 17 years of work.

UPDATE: According to BoF, Bottega Venetta has appointed British designer Daniel Lee as the successor to Tomas Maier. Daniel Lee was previously director of ready-to-wear at Celine.
Tomas Maier has parted ways with Bottega Veneta. The 61-year-old fashion veteran has stepped down from his position as the brand’s creative director, having filled the role for over 17 years. Bottega Veneta’s parent company, Kering, revealed the news earlier today.
“It’s largely due to Tomas’s high-level creative demands that Bottega Veneta became the house it is today. He put it back on the luxury scene and made it an undisputed reference,” reads a statement from Kering chief executive François-Henri Pinault. “I am deeply grateful to him and I personally thank him for the work he accomplished, and for the exceptional success he helped to achieve.”
While Bottega Veneta saw success for several years following Maier’s hiring, the company has battled a slump in recent years.
Most recently, Tomas Maier took part in Uniqlo’s designer collaboration series.
