Exclusive: Atlanta's Hugo Joe Is Fool's Gold's Secret Weapon
‘Hugo Dro’ is set to drop this summer.
Rising Atlanta rapper Hugo Joe is starting to turn some heads. Following his underground hit “Sade,” the Fool’s Gold signee will link up with producer MexikoDro for a joint EP titled Hugo Dro that is set to drop this summer. The bubbling upstart releases two music videos for his two singles, “Tesla,” featuring buzzy Oakland rap personality Guapdad 4000, and “Afghan.”
For “Afghan,” Hugo Joe feels like he has a classic on his hand. “Me & Dro recorded this one early in the year, as soon as we cut it we knew it had the classic Hugo & Mexiko sound that our fans have grown to love from us,” Joe explains to HYPEBEAST. “So I hit Damien Aku to shoot the video and it came out crazy.”
