Horror film production company Blumhouse dropped the first trailer to its Halloween sequel this morning, continuing with all the elements that made the now 11-film-strong franchise so iconic in the slasher genre. Set 40 years after Michael Myers’s first Halloween night killing spree, the maniac murderer escapes from a mental institution and immediately returns to his evil ways. Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as Laurie, the primary protagonist tasked with stopping Michael, while the David Gordon Green-directed cast is rounded out by Judy Greer, Will Patton and Omar Dorsey.
2018’s Halloween will hit theaters on Friday, October 19. In other entertainment news, check out the first trailer to Jeff Bridges and Chris Hemsworth’s new thriller Bad Times at the El Royale.
