Facebook Launches New Gameshow Features for Live Streams
Rivaling the YouTube Community.
Facebook just unpacked a slew of interactive video features this Tuesday, offering users to create their own live streams that include trivia plug-ins like polls and quizzes. According to TechCrunch, these game show-esque attributes are comparable to YouTube’s fledgling Community platform that offers creators similar options for video recording. However, the social media giant assures that its new features will be groundbreaking in the entertainment sector as a whole — describing it as more “community-centric,” as per the company’s official blog.
Accompanying the features are new options to rake in cash for uploaded video content such as extended advertisements and monthly subscriptions. Moreover, the platform will pave way for paid partnerships with the new Brand Collabs Manager section. The company also announced additional interactive game shows that will be added to Facebook Watch, spanning “Confetti” from Insider, Fresno’s “What’s in The Box,” and BuzzFeed’s “Outside Your Bubble.”
