Apple's Next AirPods Case May Also Charge Your iPhone
It could arrive by the end of this year.
Following recent reports of noise-cancelling AirPods coming soon, it is now rumored the earbuds’ case will be able to charge iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X devices. It’s believed this could be achieved by utilizing Apple‘s upcoming AirPods cases (which already wirelessly charge the AirPods themselves), especially since sources say the iPhone charging feature could be made available as soon as the end of this year.
Apple previously mentioned it was working on a wireless charging case for AirPods that could also be topped up with the AirPower pad. And with Apple’s AirPower charging pad rumored to arrive sometime in September, it wouldn’t be surprising if we hear word of such a feature.
