adidas Skateboarding Introduces a Future Summer Classic: the "3MC" Sneaker
Taking design cues from the Gazelle and Seely.
adidas Skateboarding has unveiled a new model in the 3MC. Part of the Three Stripes’ Fall/Winter 2018 range, the silhouette shares canvas or premium suede options on the upper with triple black, triple white and navy color choices to start. The adidas 3MC bridges the gap between archival models and skate kicks of today thanks to its oxford toebox, Geoflex outsole and tonal adidas branding details.
As explained by adidas Originals and Skateboarding Senior Design Director Chris Law:
“The 3MC silhouette’s design is based on the notion of combining archival DNA cues, recognizable attributes, and our adidas design principles of ‘Born from culture,’ ‘Daringly simple’ and ‘Built for purpose.’ The plan was to create a shoe that is democratic, versatile and aesthetically clean. Those adidas DNA cues come through utilizing the Gazelle family Vulc tape and hexagonal flex outsole, a triple stitched vamp, the iconic Gazelle heel mustache featuring the stacked Trefoil, the quarter tab branding from the Seeley and the embossed, tonal 3-Stripes.”
The adidas 3MC retails at $65 USD and will be available at select adidas Skateboarding retailers, and online, on July 5. Three Stripes followers can also check out the grey colorway of the FUTURECRAFT 4D.
