Yohji Yamamoto and adidas‘s Y-3 has continued developing progressive footwear silhouettes, and its latest creation is nearly here. Dubbed the Kaiwa, the running sneaker offers a substantial midsole and tall tongue, making for a heft silhouette undercut by its lightweight construction. Each iteration of the shoe offers an inverted black and white colorway, muting the various paneling on the upper and instead placing emphasis on the branding on the heel and tongue.

Both Kaiwa colorways — the white on black version is seen below — are available for pre-order on Barney’s website. Elsewhere, Yamamoto’s Ground Y imprint teased its latest seasonal collaboration with Fred Perry.
