Vevo to Shut Down Its Apps & Website to Focus on YouTube Channels
The phasing out will begin in the coming weeks.

Vevo announced today that it will shutting down its mobile apps and consumer website as the company shifts towards growing current and future partnerships. A spokesperson told Billboard that they will begin to phase out the Vevo website and apps for iOS and Android within the next few weeks.
“Going forward, Vevo will remain focused on engaging the biggest audiences and pursuing growth opportunities,” according to the company’s corporate website. “Our catalog of premium music videos and original content will continue to reach a growing audience on YouTube and we are exploring ways to work with additional platforms to further expand access to Vevo’s content.”
The company, which is co-owned by a coalition of major record labels and tech companies, will continue with its original programming — including the dscvr and LIFT emerging artist programs, as well as upcoming projects — but without Vevo-branded properties.
