Post Malone Wants to Launch His Own Label & Make a Movie
As revealed by his manager Dre London.
Fresh off the record-breaking success of his latest studio album Beerbongs & Bentleys, Post Malone is looking to make his mark on other sides of the entertainment industry.
As revealed in a new Billboard interview with Post Malone’s manager Dre London, the “Psycho” artist intends to launch his very own label and get into movies.
“He’s seen the music business inside out and now he wants to start his label,” London tells Billboard‘s Colin Stutz. “We’re going to do it how we been doing it from the beginning, and obviously a distributor is going to come along. Let the bidding begin.”
Post Malone also has plans to create a “great movie.” “Post has a movie idea right now and he and well-known writers are going to get together and write it,” London explains. “I’ve been begging him to play a role in it because he’s good at acting. I think I’ve just managed to twist his arm enough to play a role — it might come in disguise, or something where we find out it’s him afterwards. We do want to do stuff on television, but he wants to do his own stuff, stuff that we own, where a part of that comes from our vision, our creation. Nothing corny, stuff that just fits his brand and his character.”
Elsewhere, London shares the never-before-published origin story behind Post Malone’s “Congratulations” video, opens up about the viral Postmates and mariachi video and more. The entire feature can be checked out at Billboard.
Last week, Post Malone teamed up with Tiesto and others for high-profile collaborative single “Jackie Chan.”
