Uniting Barcelona’s 10 districts.
After releasing new kits for Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, Nike Football has revealed the latest home kit for an iconic European club. The new FC Barcelona jersey was debuted in Barcelona’s recent game against Real Sociedad, which also marked the final time that club legend Andres Iniesta will appear for his hometown team.
Coming in the classic blue-and-red colorway, the kit celebrates the 10 regions of Barcelona. Each of the red stripe represents a different part of the city, with all of the stripes being the exact same width as a nod to Barcelona’s uniting power throughout the city. Revealing the design, Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director Peter Hoppins explained that the kit reflected how “Barcelona is a place where the football club is absolutely fundamental to people’s lives.” Take a look at Barcelona’s 2018-19 home jersey above, and head over to the Nike web store to get your hands on the kit.
