Mac DeMarco Drops Singles "She's My Sweet" & "Fuck The Toronto Raptors"
The records are a part of a two-song mini project titled ‘Red Carpet 7”‘.
Last night following the Met Gala and the Toronto Raptors getting swept — for the second year in a row — by the Cleveland Cavilers, Mac DeMarco, a Canadian native, formed a new band titled Met Gala and shared Red Carpet 7”, which is basically just new two songs. “She’s My Sweet” and “Fuck The Toronto Raptors” are both funky, lo-fi records that are as smooth as ever, with the latter being a hilarious vent.
In those songs’ YouTube description, it reads that both tracks were “recorded earlier today on the red carpet at the Met Gala,” which seems pretty impossible. The band members include regular DeMarco collaborators like Alec Meen and Peter Sagar with DIIV’s Colin Caulfield, Sadie Holliday, Greg Napier and Caila Thompson. The contributions from the members range from vocals and adlibs to finger snaps and “Basketball Consultant.”
Check out both songs above.
DeMarco’s most recent album is last year’s This Old Dog.
