A First Look at the Upcoming Virgil Abloh x Air Jordan 1 "UNC"
Dropping this summer.
Continuing his collaborative efforts with Nike, we first caught news of the forthcoming Virgil Abloh x Air Jordan 1 “UNC” colorway back in December of last year. As its impending June release nears, fans have finally been gifted with a first look at the soon-to-be-coveted model.
Just like its “The Ten” predecessor, the AJ1 “UNC” silhouette features the same hand-cut, open-sourced and reconstructed look, once again recreating an adventurous yet wearable design. However, this time the shoe takes inspiration from the University of North Carolina, where Michael Jordan played before entering the NBA, seeing “University Blue” hits on the ankle flap, Swoosh, heel and toe. Virgil’s signature quotes have also been added with “SHOELACES,” “AIR,” and “85” found on the shoelaces, midsole and inner ankle flap.
