The Weeknd Drops Video for 'My Dear Melancholy' Standout "Call Out My Name"
Directed by the iconic Grant Singer.
To close out March, The Weeknd dropped the followup to 2016’s Starboy, My Dear Melancholy. An EP project, the release was made up of six new tracks and featured a pair of high-profile collaborations with talented producer/DJ Gesaffelstein. Now, following performances of the EP’s title track and “Try Me,” The Weeknd continues to support the effort with another new video.
Coming to us just a few days after the release of the “He Was Never There” vignette, the Grant Singer-directed “Call Out My Name” vid adds to the darker narrative of My Dear Melancholy and provides a visual component to its moody, gloomy aesthetic.
My Dear Melancholy quickly became its creator’s third consecutive no. 1 album, and it looks like The Weeknd is planning a pretty serious promotional campaign for the EP.
