Studio Nucleo & Diadre Imagine Living on the Moon With 3D-Printed Furniture
Crafted using materials that mimic the moon’s surface.

Italian furniture label Driade recently joined forces with Studio Nucleo to launch an outdoor collection for Milan Design Week 2018.
The collaborative project celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo II moon landing, showcasing 3D-printed pieces by Philippe Starck, Naoto Fukasawa, and Enzo Mari. All furniture items are crafted out of soft sand that is similar to regolith, a material of dust, soil, and broken rock observed on the moon’s surface. Moreover, each piece was designed based on research conducted by the European Space Agency. All in all, the project aims to explore the types of furniture that would be on the moon.
