Stream Prince's New Single "Electric Intercourse," An Unreleased Cut From the 'Purple Rain (Deluxe)' Reissue
From the Purple One’s legendary vaults.

NPG Records and Warner Bros. have unveiled a new single in support of the forthcoming deluxe and expanded reissue of Prince‘s seminal 1984 album Purple Rain. The studio version of “Electric Intercourse” was originally locked away in the Purple One’s vast vaults of unreleased music, only entering circulation through old, fan-shot recordings of ’80s performances. The track initially entered Prince’s body of work as one of the records created during the legendary Purple Rain recordings, and thanks to some modern remastering, is now available for streaming and purchase. Besides this new track, the forthcoming Purple Rain reissue will feature several unreleased songs, including six records that “have never been released or distributed in the collector or bootleg community.”
You can stream the studio version of “Electric Intercourse” below, while pre-orders of the deluxe and expanded edition of Purple Rain can be purchased on iTunes. Earlier this month, another new Prince song titled “Deliverance” surfaced along with an EP of the same name.
