Pornhub Is Now Accepting Anonymous Cryptocurrency
Leave no trace when purchasing premium subscriptions.
Adult entertainment giant Pornhub is now allowing its users to make payments via anonymous cryptocurrency, Verge (XVG).
The partnership will allow users to purchase a premium subscription without the paranoia of leaving a trace on the pornography platform. Although Verge’s cryptocurrency transactions are available for anyone to see through its public ledger, the company “uses the anonymity tool Tor and an anonymous network layer I2P to hide specific transactions’ IP addresses and locations,” as per The Verge. Pornhub joins big platforms such as Reddit, Valve, and Stripe to include cryptocurrency as a payment option. Pornhub apparently engaged in numerous tests and trials before today’s launch and they’ve all been successful.
Verge was under fire last March for requesting its users to donate upwards of $3 million USD to unveil its next partnership, which turned out to be Pornhub. According to a recent Medium post, the company claims that it has received the whopping sum of money and the cash was being used to help merge the technology into Pornhub’s payment system, create hard wallet integrations, marketing and more. Despite the backlash, Verge founder and lead developer Justin Sunerok is in high spirits about the collaboration. “This partnership represents an enormous market with a global reach that will compete with fiat currencies,” he said in the post. “It’s huge for Verge and we’re extremely excited to finally be able to announce it.”
