NikeConnect Technology Comes to the Air Force 1
The jersey tech finally meets footwear.

NikeConnect technology will be introduced to footwear for the first time for the NYC-exclusive release of the Air Force 1 NikeConnect QS. The tech utilizes a Near-Feild Communication chip for Nike+ app users to tap on the shoe’s embedded chip, which opens access to a monthly release method called The Choice.
The Choice allows customers to buy one of two limited-edition kicks. The company is beta testing the initiative of adding NikeConnect to other footwear releases by limiting the AF1 NikeConnect QS to New York’s select Nike+ members. Although the release is slated for this month, an exact date has yet to be announced.
adidas has been toying with the same NFC technology since 2013, pairing it with a limited number of its BOOST shoes, which provided product info and reviews.
