A24 keeps rolling out the auteur-driven gems, this time spotlighting Ari Aster’s disturbing horror-hit-in-the-making Hereditary.

Both written and directed by Aster, Hereditary centers around the Graham family in the aftermath of the eldest member, Ellen, passing away. Toni Collette plays Ellen’s daughter, who loses her grip with reality as terrifying secrets about the Graham family’s ancestry are dug up and revealed. Playing Charlie, the youngest Graham who has some sort of connection to a malevolent spirit, is newcomer Milly Shapiro, who’s performance is reminiscent of Regan in The Exorcist and Damien’s in The Omen. Watch the terrifying child in action above.

Hereditary made its debut at Sundance earlier this year followed by SXSW and was met with great acclaim. The film hits theaters June 8 and also stars Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne and Alex Wolff. In case you’ve missed it, A24’s Hot Summer Nights is a debaucherous coming-of-age story.
