Ayo Edebiri Gets Invited To John Malkovich's Creepy Cult in A24's 'Opus'
Mark Anthony Green’s directorial debut premieres this March.
A24 has dropped off the bizarre trailer for Mark Anthony Green’s directorial debut, Opus.
The upcoming horror film stars The Bear‘s Ayo Edebiri as Ariel, a young writer who gets invited to enter the remote compound of pop icon Alfred Moretti (John Malkovich) after his disappearance 30 years ago. With the story of a lifetime at the tip of her pen, Ariel accepts the invitation but finds herself surrounded by the star’s cult of “sycophants and intoxicated journalists.” As it turns out, Moretti has some big, “twisted” plans for his new body of work.
Joining Edebiri and Malkovich in the cast are Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, Stephanie Suganami and Tatanka Means. The film is set to premiere at the Midnight section of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival later this month.
