The UK’s JD Sports is making power moves. The massive sportswear retailer has completed a deal to purchase Finish Line in a bid to take its business stateside. When the $558 million USD deal is completed, JD Sports will operate over 1,500 shops worldwide — including outposts in Macy’s — which grants the company a commanding lead over all rivals except for Foot Locker, which boasts 1,800 stores around the world. Because of the distance separating JD and Finish Line, the company doesn’t expect staff numbers to fluctuate.

Stay tuned for more information on the acquisition, which is still up to the approval of shareholders.

Recently, JD Sports released an exclusive adidas EQT Support colorway.
