Sculptor of Ridiculed Ronaldo Bust Gets a Second Chance
Better than the first one?
The Internet and social media went ablaze after a rather unsightly bronze bust sculpture of Cristiano Ronaldo was unveiled at Madeira Airport in Portugal last March. The artist behind the bust, Emmanuel Santos, created a bronze statue of Ronaldo’s Real Madrid FC teammate, Gareth Bale, after the incident—hoping to show the world that his sculpting abilities are far from elementary. The Bale statue didn’t look too shabby, but creating it wasn’t apparently enough for Santos to fully redeem himself.
Bleacher Report recently gave the artist another shot to create a whole new Ronaldo bust and the process is all covered in an intimate documentary aptly titled “The Ronaldo-over.” Watch the second attempt above and let us know your thoughts on this new bust.
In recent sports news, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame recently enlisted Jason Kidd, Steve Nash and Grant Hill as its newest members.
