Another Look at the adidas FUTURECRAFT 4D Laceless Basketball Sneaker
Marc Dolce previews a new colorway of the knit high-top.

Just last month, adidas VP and Creative Director Marc Dolce took to Instagram to highlight the future of Three Stripes basketball: the FUTURECRAFT 4D Laceless Basketball. Now, less than two weeks later, the celebrated footwear design is back at it, offering up yet another look at the sleek silhouette.
Whereas Dolce showcased the lateral side of the shoe in his previous post (complete with 3D-printed, sole-matching support), the latest shot of the kicks flips them around to highlight the construction of the medial side. Here, adi’s ubiquitous stripes appear in white and decorate a black colorway of the kicks while the cushioning and rubber outsole once again come in the FUTURECRAFT’s signature “Ash Green” hue. As you can see from the shot, the asymmetrical toe bumper also extends further around the medial side to offer added protection to both the midsole and upper.
Could laceless knit high-tops be the future of footwear on the hardwood? Only time will tell, but here’s to hoping adidas’s latest FUTURECRAFT 4D silhouette gets an on-court debut in the months ahead.
