The Mercedes-AMG C63 Gets Beefed-Up for 2019
Mercedes’ best-selling model gets a facelift for 2019.
Mercedes-AMG has just unveiled an updated fleet for the C63 AMG. As the car manufacturer’s best-selling model series, the update further improves on performance with regards to the vehicle’s exterior and interior. The C-Class is offered in choice of Estate, Saloon, Cabriolet and Coupé trims, with two powerful engine output options.
Looking from front to back, the updates are most apparent in terms of aerodynamics. The facelift touches upon a number of exterior details from a newly designed front splitter, outer air inlets and diffuser board, down to the newly added twin-exhaust — all emphasizing a powerful and wide appearance.
Powering the updated Mercedes-AMG C63 is a 4.0-liter, biturbo V8 engine that is capable of producing 510 hp at 5500 rpm, and has a peak torque of 516 lb-ft. at 2000-5000 rpm. Like all C63 models that have come before this, the vehicle will only be offered in rear-wheel-drive, only this time the engine is matched with a AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission that has an electronically controlled rear-axle limited-slip differential. Sharing close DNA with its flagship sibling, the Mercedes-AMG GT, the 2019 Mercedes-AMG C63 offers power and sportiness, but with comfort and long-distance travel in mind.
