Y-3 Officially Unveils the RUNNER 4D
Y-3 takes a trip to the future.
Y-3 has officially unveiled its first crack at implementing Digital Light Synthesis technology, or Futurecraft 4D, into its footwear. Dubbed the Y-3 RUNNER 4D, its midsole is constructed though a process that uses digital light projection, oxygen-permeable optics and programmable liquid resins, resulting in long-lasting products. The overall design showcases Y-3’s signature aesthetic by combining a Japanese approach to craftsmanship with a fashion-forward look. Its upper is comprised of black and white Primeknit, while adidas‘s hallmark Three Stripes are added to the lateral and medial sides, doubling as its lacing system.
With only 200 pairs made, the Y-3 RUNNER 4D is slated for a February 23 drop at select retailers, Y-3 flagships and online for $550 USD.
