Mr. Hudson & Vic Mensa Share Somber Music Video for “Coldplay”
The G.O.O.D. Music colleagues are back.
The one time G.O.O.D. Music label mates have reconnected on a new visual today for their emotional new single debuted back in December, “Coldplay.” Interestingly enough, the song was seemingly inspired by the English rock band themselves and their influence can also be heard in Mensa’s lyrics: “Wet hair on a cold day/The kind of day you play Coldplay/I don’t even like Coldplay/But today I need Coldplay,” and “I see your face in yellow every time I hear Coldplay” – very emotional, indeed. Meanwhile, this is the second time Mr. Hudson and Vic Mensa have worked together, following their collaboration on “Almost There” which was featured on Vic Mensa’s 2017 project, The Manuscript EP.
As for the video itself, the mini-film of sorts finds Hudson and Mensa in a bar where they appear to be in a rut and decide to take it upon themselves to drink the pain away. Things eventually take a turn for better towards the end of the video. Press play to watch how it all unfolds and revisit the original single streaming now on Spotify.
