Watch TOKiMONSTA & Selah Sue's "I Wish I Could" Music Video
Telling the story of America’s challenges with healthcare.
TOKiMONSTA had a remarkable 2017 which not only stemmed from her new Lune Ruge album but also in large part due to her battle with Moyamoya – a rare brain disease that attacks basic human cognitive skills such as thinking, reading, remembering, and paying attention. Fortunately for her, she was able to overcome the disease after undergoing an emergency surgery, followed by both cognitive and physical therapy to relearn how to think, talk, and make music.
Her new video takes viewers through the eyes of her own personal experience in facing Moyamoya last year in addition to shedding light on the country’s insubstantial medical programs, overcrowded hospitals and overlooked patients. Watch the video above and check out HYPEBAE’s recent discussion with TOKiMONSTA where she detailed her path to recovery after emergency brain surgery.
