For this apartment in Barcelona’s El Born district, local architecture firm Colombo & Serboli was tasked with opening up and modernizing the space. Located in a 13th century building, the three-bedroom apartment had been dark and compartmentalized before its renovation.

One key way that the space has been updated is the use of pastel tones throughout, with oranges and pinks contrasting against white and dark blue walls. As well as this aesthetic change, the architecture firm also removed walls and restructured the apartment in order to open up its space. Take a look around the pastel-hued apartment above.
