Wearable art.

Jonathan W Anderson has long toyed with conventions of his British heritage when designing for his eponymous line, ranging from undermined conceits of masculinity to repurposed elements of British culture. In doing so, Anderson’s clothing blends thoughtful creativity with grounded silhouettes, made clear with this hoodie from the designer’s recent collaboration with conceptual British artist duo Gilbert & George. A stark monochrome image of a police officer from the artists’ Guard Plants represents their fascination with sensationalism, criminality and photography. laced on the chest of the black pullover, the print is becomes a wearable work of art. The comfy hood, thick ribbing and substantial drawstrings ensure that the layering piece is as comfortable as it is provocative.
