Artist Explains Every Marvel Cinematic Universe Movie Poster
The unpopular ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ poster is finally broken down.
Artist James Verdesotois responsible for some of the most iconic posters in Hollywood, such as Pulp Fiction, Ocean’s Eleven, Girl, Interrupted, and Training Day. In the Vanity Fair video above, Verdesotois gives an in-depth explanation behind every movie poster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, breaking down the etiquette of the art to a science.
Verdesotois looks at posters from Avengers: The Age of Ultron, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Thor: Ragnarok, Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Incredible Hulk, and other Marvel movies. He then goes on to compare the Marvel film posters to their comic book cover counterpart, down to the posturing and positioning of certain characters being the same. He also noticeably dislikes the Spider-Man: Homecoming poster, which was lambasted with hate from the online community upon its debut.
