Facebook Announces New Head of Instagram
Taking over from the co-founders.
Facebook has announced a successor to Instagram’s head role. After the swift departure of Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, the tech giant has confirmed Adam Mosseri as the replacement, who was formerly vice president of product at the company. Mosseri had previously been on the facebook side of the company, working as a VP managing the company’s news feed.
Mosseri will be reporting to Chris Cox and is seen as the most logical replacement for Systrom. Announcing the move in a blog post, the duo said “To us, the most important thing is keeping our community — all of you — front and center in all that Instagram does. We believe that Adam will hold true to these values and that Instagram will continue to thrive.”
In other news, Facebook revealed that 50 million accounts were hacked as a vulnerability in the “View As” function was exposed.
