Amy Winehouse Biopic Officially in the Works
The estate is signed on to executive-produce the upcoming film.
A new Amy Winehouse biopic will begin shooting next year, The Guardian reports. The singer’s family, who had strong criticism about the Oscar-winning 2015 documentary Amy, are signed on to executive-produce the film alongside Monumental Pictures’ Alison Owen with Debra Hayward producing; Geoff Deane is writing the script.
The money from the film will benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Along with the biopic, Winehouse’s father Mitch told Reuters that the late singer’s hologram will go on tour in 2019 with a live band.
