Solange is dropping a new album this Fall. In a new interview with T: The New York Times Style Magazine, she doesn’t share a release date for the follow-up to 2016’s A Seat at the Table but it will “likely arrive into the world fully formed at some mysterious and unexpected moment,” according to T. The piece also states that “the album’s release is imminent this fall, probably sometime soon.”
The Houston-born superstar recorded the LP in multiple locations including New Orleans, Jamaica, and California’s Topanga Canyon. Regarding the sound, “There is a lot of jazz at the core,” she tells T. “But with electronic and hip-hop drum and bass because I want it to bang and make your trunk rattle.”
Earlier this year, Solange was named the Harvard Foundation Artist of the Year. She also revealed that she’s been working on new music with Steve Lacy.
