Solange‘s latest album A Seat at the Table garnered much critical acclaim, making many year-end lists and taking the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. The most popular single of the 21-track album, “Cranes in the Sky,” has received several remixes and an artful music video. In an interview with Hrishikesh Hirway on music podcast Song Exploder, Solange talks about the creative process behind “Cranes in the Sky,” which began in 2008 with the help of Raphael Saadiq.
