Watch The Simpsons' "The Great Phatsby" Episode Starring RZA, Common and Snoop Dogg
A rap-themed ‘The Great Gatsby’ parody.
28 seasons deep and still delivering some of the most incisive pop culture commentary TV has to offer, The Simpsons aired its highly-anticipated rap-themed episode titled “The Great Phatsby” last night. Fusing two American archetypes from opposite ends of the cultural spectrum, the hour-long episode tells the story of Mr. Burns and his rival, the fictional rap mogul Jay G. The episode also includes verses from real life rap artists RZA, Common and Snoop Dogg on original tracks co-written by Empire‘s Jim Beanz. You can listen to Jim Beanz’s remix of The Simpsons theme song below and, if you are in the U.S., you can stream The Simpsons‘ “The Great Phatsby” on Hulu. Share your thoughts in the comments.
