Following the release of Solange Knowles’s new album A Seat At The Table last week, two of its standout tracks have been given vivid visual accompaniments. Acclaimed music video director (and Knowles’s husband since 2014) Alan Ferguson co-directed videos for both ”Don’t Touch My Hair” and “Cranes In The Sky” –- the former features rising British producer Sampha.
A Seat At The Table is Knowles’s fourth album to date and sees her build further on an expansive R&B sound she’s made her own since 2012’s True EP and its ubiquitous single “Losing You”. In her own words, the record is “a project on identity, empowerment, independence, grief, and healing” and – featuring input from the likes of Lil Wayne, Q-Tip and Tweet – is set to elevate her reputation further.
