Helmut Lang Announces New Editor-In-Residence
‘W’ magazine’s Alix Browne replaces Isabella Burley.

Helmut Lang first announced the launch of its Editor-In-Residence program back in early 2017 with a view to revolving the position and giving different editorial perspectives. The series was launched with Isabella Burley — Editor-In-Chief at Dazed & Confused – occupying the position, with Alix Browne now announced as the label’s second editor. Browne has previously been Features Editor of W magazine, as well as Founding Editor of V magazine and Deputy Style Editor at T: The New York Times Style Magazine.
Burley’s time as Editor-In-Residence saw the label launch a series of prominent initiatives, including the Design Residency program which began with Hood By Air’s Shayne Oliver. Other projects launched by Burley include the Helmut Lang: Re-Edition project, The Artist Series and — most recently — the Exactitudes campaign, featuring Helmut Lang fans including Solange Knowles and Kanye West.
This is the latest new appointment from Helmut Lang, with Mark Thomas announced as the brand’s new Men’s Design Director back in October and the next guest in its Design Residency set to be revealed in February. In other fashion news, Alexander Wang has announced that he will no longer show at New York Fashion Week.
