Teaming up with the Empowerment Plan which helps provide coats and jobs for the homeless community in Detroit, Chance is seeking to do the same for his native hometown. The garment is based off the EMPWR coat, which can easily transform into a sleeping bag and be carried over the shoulder when not in use. Made from up-cycled automotive insulation, fabric from Carhartt and other donated materials, the coats are water-resistant and self-heating. The Empowerment Plan also seeks to hire the homeless from local shelters and train them as seamstresses so they can earn a stable income and gain independence. Donations for the Warmest Winter Initiative will be accepted until January 13.
