This Week's Sneakers Drop Pays Homage to the Past, Present and Future
In addition to adidas celebrating 2018’s Chinese New Year

Once upon a time, long before the hype pervaded popular culture, the major sneaker brands would typically deliver one, maybe two coveted releases a month, with a heavy emphasis on storytelling. Nowadays, it’s commonplace to see these different labels ditch the ‘who, what, where, when and how,’ and instead drop multiple pairs of heat in just one weekend. A welcomed dilemma for most.

Air Jordan 1 High OG “City of Flight”

After a “Top 3” release, the popular color combination of black and gold returns to the Air Jordan 1 High OG. Dubbed the “City of Flight,” this edition celebrates this year’s NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles. Tumbled leather dominates its upper as gold accents are added to the Swoosh, “WINGS” logo and Nike Air branding on the tongue. As an ode to LA, you’ll find a map of the city printed on each insole.
Nike SB Dunk Low “Decon”

Nike SB’s Dunk Low receives a deconstructed look for 2018. Removing its signature design lines, the sneaker welcomes Light Bone and Summit White coloring with the addition of nostalgic branding found on the tongue and heel. Premium leather is also mixed into its inner lining and upper to take things up a notch.
adidas Originals Prophere “Trace Olive”

adidas Originals‘s new Prophere model sees another edition dubbed “Trace Olive.” Originally launched at select retailers, the lightweight model will now be given a global release, with its Primeknit upper featuring subtle hints of pink to complement its greenish coloring. Its bulky midsole is treated in white with additional pink accents placed on its heel.
Nike Shox Gravity

Nike gives us a blast from the past with a new take on its popular Shox technology. Dubbed the Shox Gravity, Flywire cables are incorporated and function along with its laces and cinch system to create the ultimate lockdown for your foot. Twin plates collide with foam cushioning in order to provide a quick response and present the signature Shox look.
Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 “Habanero”

The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 is back with some added flair to its upper. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the silhouette initially hit shelves only boasting solid color-blocking on its upper. This time around, the model incorporates an interesting pattern which results in this “Habanero” edition. Black and red dominate this edition’s upper as its underfoot-lacing mechanism sees contrasting black and white.

adidas Originals’ NMD_R2, EQT Support ADV, Superstar and Campus models will join forces to celebrate 2018’s Chinese New Year. The pack sees uniform color-blocking as each sneaker is dominated by light beige with red accents. Chinese characters are found on the heels with different blessings being added to each model.
