'Hostiles' Teaser Trailer Stars Christian Bale as a Western Gunslinger
The season’s first Oscar contender.
Christian Bale has taken the role of legendary Army captain Joseph J. Blocker in the new thriller Hostiles. Director Scott Cooper’s (Black Mass) western takes place in 1892 with Blocker reluctantly taking one final military mission before retirement, escorting a Cheyenne war chief and his family through dangerous Wild West territory, similar to 3:10 to Yuma. Together they battle against a punishing landscape and the brutality of men alike, coming to the rescue of a young widow (Rosamund Pike) amidst the carnage of her murdered family.
