The SNES Classic already has a similar history to its NES Classic counterpart, with a limited release window of three months already announced and an abundance of pre-orders from resellers. Despite reports circulating that retailers have canceled pre-orders for good towards the system, Nintendo has assured fans that pre-orders will return at the end of August. Retailers that canceled all orders for the SNES Classic say it was due to a technical glitch that said the console was available ahead of its release date.
The standalone mini console will contain 21 games, including masterworks such as Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Yoshi’s Island, and Earthbound. Also included will be Star Fox 2, the unreleased sequel to the original Star Fox for SNES.
Purchase the miniature system for $79.99 USD on September 29 and check out which titles we think should have been on the SNES Classic Edition.
