Skepta's Nike Air Max 97 Leads the Pack of This Week's Sneaker Releases

Once upon a time, Nikeadidas and other sneaker brands would bless us with releases of coveted sneakers once or twice a month. Nowadays, it’s not uncommon for different footwear labels to drop multiple pairs of heat in just one weekend. Making it easier for you to choose whether to cop or drop, we continue our weekly roundup of the silhouettes that will be sought after this week. Check out the list below and chime in on the styles you’ll be picking up.

adidas Laceless UltraBOOST

Another iteration of adidas’ UltraBOOSt model is back to make things even simpler. This time around the BOOST cushioned silhouette removes its caging and its laces for a slip-on aesthetic. Its ankle collar is raised to a mid height while adidas branding can be found on its tongue entry. A duo of colorway choices coat the adidas Laceless UltraBOOST as popular “Triple White” and “Multicolor” is placed on the lightweight sneaker.

A$AP Ferg “Trap Lord” x adidas Matchcourt

The A$AP Mob continues to take over the month of August. Following A$AP Ferg’s Still Striving project and the recent launch of Cozy Tapes Vol.2: Too Cozy, Fergenstein and adidas are back to drop another collaborative “Trap Lord” collaboration. The joint drop uses the Three Stripes’ Matchcourt model as the canvas. The sneaker is dominated by white coloring and is complemented by red adidas stripes and printed laces. “TLHP” branding is placed on each lateral side for its finishing touches.

Nike Air More Uptempo “University Blue”

Nike’s unforgettable basketball model is back in a rather familiar colorway. Normally seen on Jordan Brand models, “University Blue” coloring dominated the “AIR” branded sneaker as white serves as its complement. This version of the Air More Uptempo stays true to its original design thanks to its visible Air Max Unit and Nike branding found on its tongue and heel.

Nike Flyknit Trainer “Pale Grey” & “Bright Citron”

Nike’s Flyknit Trainer has seen its fair share of themes over time. “Pale Grey” and “Bright Citron” have been on the radar as of late as a follow up to the “Cookies and Cream” colorway. Despite seeing a few alterations in reference to its official launch date, the two forthcoming editions will finally will finally hit retailers this week for those looking to add to their personal collection.

Nike SB Dunk High Elite

Nike’s contemporary Dunk High model returns in a brand new color choice. Its side panels and toebox host knit and mesh materials respectively while its sock-like collar steals the show. The Nike SB Dunk High Elite rests atop of a white midsole and gum colored outsole for a small taste of the past. You’ll also find Air Zoom cushioning within its heel for quick response during performance.

Nike Air Max 97 “Sk”

Hailing from London, Skepta contributes his two cents to the forthcoming Nike Air Max 97. Dubbed the Nike Air Max 97 “Sk”, its design gains influence from the color palette of Morocco and one of the first sneakers Skepta bought with his own money, the Air Tuned Max from 1999. Throughout the sneaker you’ll find intricate details such as its “Sk” logo which pays homage to the Air Max TN plus braided embroidery along the model, reflecting sportswear found in Morocco during Skepta’s own travels.

Air Jordan 5 “Camo”

Jordan Brand brings a new look to its legendary Air Jordan 5 model. Its “Camo” aesthetic brings “Dark Stucco” onto its suede upper as “Fire Red” is placed along its logos, lining and midsole as a small contrast. Its heel counter and tongue welcome the aforementioned camo print while special “AIR23” branding is found on its heel instead of the tradition “Nike Air” or Jumpman logos.
