Kes Glozier for Valentino.
Taking inspiration from British punk culture, Valentino’s 2017 fall/winter collection rewinds to the British punk culture through the eyes of Kes Glozier. Glozier briefly navigates away viewers from the brand’s signature camo designs by showing his audience a progression of sorts in the Italian fashion house.
The promo showcases a collection which Valentino has collaborated with Punk Legend Jamie Reid for its Fall 2017 Menswear. Known for his collage artwork that mimics ransom notes, such as “Here’s the Sex Pistols” and “God Save the Queen”, Reid designed phrases like “Reclaim your heritage, beauty is a birthright” and “It seemed to be the end until the next beginning” that appeared on the hats, coats, jackets, and capes of the boys in the video. Instead of going down the obvious punk route of safety pins and mohair sweaters, punk means individuality and nonconformity for Valentino.
