Lonzo Ball Delivers a Hilarious Ode to LaVar for Father's Day

With Father’s Day just a few days away, Foot Locker enlisted a group of top NBA prospects from the forthcoming Draft, including Lonzo Ball, De’Aaron Fox, Jayson Tatum and Jonathan Isaac, to reflect on everything their dads have done for them on their way to the league. It starts out as any heartfelt ode would but takes a hilarious turn when it becomes Lonzo’s turn to speak on his eccentric father, Lavar.
“…or that special moment when your dad sits you down and tells you where you’re going to college; copyrights your name to make it a part of a family lifestyle brand; went on First Take and shouted back-and-forth with Steve A. Smith about how you’re already better than the reigning league MVP; all those interviews from the stands during college games; the public spats with the all-time greats; soundbite after soundbite to the national media; and then tells 29 out of 30 teams to not bother drafting you.”
After seeing the Lonzo and LaVar on Jimmy Kimmel Live the other night, it’s great to see them having a little fun at their own expense.
